Nebraska Drought Improves Slightly

(Lincoln, NE) -- Drought conditions in Nebraska improved slightly in the past week. The U.S. Drought Monitor shows around 30-percent of the state as either abnormally dry or in moderate drought. The most dry area continues to be the eastern third of the state. Iowa's drought picture has improved as well. Most of Pottawattamie County, Iowa is in moderate drought.

The report does not include rainfall from this week.

The National Weather Service in Valley, NE predicts warm temperatures this weekend with a good chance at widespread showers and thunderstorms returning on Sunday.
